“To be competent, I have to be complicit. My way of being OK with that is to be abstract. I don't drag human beings from their homes. I drag historical outliers. I don't shoot into unarmed crowds. I fulfill the will of history.”(要胜任这个职位,我就得成为同谋。
“You mean the will of those in power.”(你指的是当权者的意志?)
“It's not that simple and you know it. A police force isn't some abstract ideal of what justice and law should be. It's an instrument of those in power. A... reflection of the society it protects.”(事情没你想象的那么简单。
Christiansen: "When, ah, when it is passed. And it's a pleasure to speak with you too Eliza. Listen, I know opponents are saying the Human Restoration Act is a step backwards, a devastating blow against basic human rights. These social justice warriors fail to see the bigger picture. The Aug Incident put everything off the rails. Since then, the rift between augmented and naturals has gotten so wide, so deep it;s become impossible to cross. We need a time out. A temporary separation of the classes so we can clear the air and reevaluate how we can coexist peacefully."
I'm saying I can only go after enemies I see, Alex. The men who caused all this, the true power-brokers-- they're the ones I need to stop. I thought you knew that.
Jacques-Belletête:“Humans will be bad to each other forever, as far as I’m considered. Segregating people that one casts ... as wrong or dangerous or inferior is a thing that will always sadly happen. Obviously we’re not condoning it, it’s an analogy for how sucky humanity is and showing how it can happen in the future with the technology we’re dealing with.” The story is not about racism, it's about technology and choice.(https://www.polygon.com/2016/7/6/11990828/deus-ex-mankind-divided-and-the-problem-of-mechanical-apartheid)
“With every incident, the gap of fear and hatred that divides Augs and non-Augs widens. Who really benefits when innocents die, allegedly in the name of Aug rights?”
(Treat people like animals long enough, they'll start acting like animals.),这也是强调了趋势的力量。
由图莱克(魔像城)狭区出口处的警察“I can't believe they bomb our city and complain about their rights.”
“Rucker talks about "Aug rights" like they're a different race or something. Are their children born augmented?”(塔洛斯谈论“改造人权利”就像他们是不同的种族之类的。
Adam告诉艾莉森:“Your father isn't augmented, and he doesn't deserve to die. He never did anything but support you. And there were people just like him at Ruzicka station, good people who could have helped our cause, but your bombs killed them.”
Adam告诉艾莉森:“It does matter. Nobody's born augmented(没有人生来就是强化人).”
Adam告诉塔洛斯:“You're not any different from them, Rucker. All of you rely on armed men while spouting your rhetoric from behind the safety of a camera. If you want to prove the strength of your convictions, confront your enemies face to face.(你和他们没有什么不同,鲁克尔。
Adam:“If you want to make enemeies, try to change something”
Mankind Divided follows on from Human Revolution's theme of technology giving individuals previously unimaginable powers, making use of the legend of Icarus to press home its point that such advances are not without their risks and costs. The game poses.
I cannot believe it. Didn't he just lose his daughter not so long ago?
Yes. Kristelle. A nice girl. She used to babysit my kids.
Now this... You know, they are saying he was part of... of that attack. A member of ARC.
Bullshit. He is just a poor aug with the wrong enhancements and the wrong connections. He outgrew his usefulness. Or they needed the apartment. Maybe for another wrench.
If that's true, they could do the same to anyone. To anyone who knows him... How long until they evict us too?
I specialize in Chinese black market, OK? The shit I found hidden inside you, spliced into your system like that, looks to me like it's from MARS, man!”
(“Because it was another world. Two other worlds, in fact: one of extreme augmentations in gold or crystal, and one of thousands of workers outfitted for construction. Then that day...”)(“No, Agent Jensen, you could not. Some called it divine punishment, but that day was not the work of a merciful god.”)
“Actually, I am looking forward to it. The truth is, when you've been under for long enough..? You only feel like an impostor out here, in the real world.”
“Christ, I know I'm good, Jensen, but I've only been on it for five minutes.”
(Leftovers are on ice at the Oman sub-station. I've been told they were scrubbed clean as summer whites. No prints, no dental... no nothing.)
(Come on, Macready! We're not a couple of beat-cops filling a monthly quota here. This isn't about whose collar it is, it's about getting the people responsible. Full stop.)
(Listen. I know I come off strong. I got three ex-wives that'll back that up, but that's just how I'm built. Putting on a show for the new guy isn't going to change what's underneath.)
“With that sandstorm giving us colonics, stripping the juice box out the chopper was an inspired choice. But that mission is over and your involvement in it ends now. Got it?”
“Middle of a firefight, with a sandstorm giving us colonics and you still managed to tombstone that chopper! I recognize your talents, mate, but that mission is over and your involvement in it ends now. Got it?”
“Good. Then you'll appreciate this: you sat around on your ass in Dubai and watched that chopper get away. You failed the fucking mission, and got me saddled with a shit investigation in the process.”
(“Miller mentioned that you might be pissed not getting to follow up with the investigation. I told him it wouldn't be a problem. I'm not being pig-headed, mate, I'm following orders. And I get a bit of a kick watching you squirm over it.”)
Adam:“你不觉得我们通过他们来得到消息很奇怪吗?”(“You don't think it's strange we got the call over them? ”)
(“I stopped questioning the logic of the Big Noise a long time ago. What I'm told is, we were the only team ready to go. ”)
“This isn't about Augs versus Naturals, Delara. This is about terrorism. And in my book, there's no excuse for the taking of innocent lives. No matter the reason.”
“There are no easy answers, doc. If the Augmented are behind this, maybe they felt it was their only recourse. Or maybe terrorism would stop if the ruling class realized how often their own actions contribute to it.”
“Right now I'm just a cop, and it's criminals that are responsible for this chaos, augmented or not. My job is to prevent further bloodshed.”
ARC
(My god, Jensen. I heard about the explosion. We should relocate. I was thinking we could corner Director Miller together. Tell him... Tell him it's just not safe enough here.)
(The police station, the train station, we're next, I can feel it. I can more than feel it. I can see it happening.)
Praha Dovoz
(Praha Dovoz was designed to be forgettable. The kind of place you walk by a hundred times and still can't remember.)
(“When you have been doing this as long as me, you start to question every little thing. Plus, that old lady kept coming around. ”“Chatty thing. I thought she was just lonely, until I caught her staring at the terminal when my back was turned. ” )
Samizdat is a media uprising. While Picus panders to corporate tyranny and government bullshit, we pump out the truth. We uncover it, we write it, we publish it... we get our noses broke for it.(我们发现它,我们写下它,我们发布它......
I get it. I don't want to compromise no one's investigative journalism. Sometimes you move too fast and the real story flies off before you even had a chance to see it. That's not what we do here. So you go break open whatever it is you're breaking open, and we'll lay off Praha Dovoz. For now.”)
Ha haha! Ex-Belltower mercenaries working with local Slavic gangsters caught in the middle of a puppet show in the Middle East. The whole thing was carefully crafted vaudeville.
告诉我,售后市场的事情对你来说怎么样?(Goddamn, Jensen, every time I look at you, I can't believe the amount of jewelry you've got on. Tell me, how's that after-market shit working out for you?)
警察:“You probably saved a lot of lives by telling us this, hanzer.”(你今日的所作所为或许能拯救无数生命呢,改造人)
告发者“Oh yeah, I'm a regular hero. I bet they will have a statue of me in the town square and everything.”(啊,是啊,我就是个平民英雄,我猜你还要为我在城镇广场上建个雕像,或是其他事)
“If your sister is with ARC, we are the only people who can help her.”(如果你的妹妹是ARC成员,那我们是唯一能帮助她的人)
“I have seen the way you help people. Hoarding all the pozy and then handing it out as a reward when we stab each other in the back.”(我见过你们是怎么对民众伸出援手的,就只是攥着所有的抗凝剂(神经抗凝剂)当做我们互相出卖的奖赏)
“Little late for that now, isn't it?”(说这些有点太晚了,不是吗?)
(No. And I do not want to know. After this, I am done with them. Being associated with ARC, even if they are our only hope, it is not worth the pain... Look, you want to know what ARC is up to, you are going to have to ask them yourself.)
狭区警察:“I can't believe they bomb our city and complain about their rights.”
“Exactly, Rucker talks about "Aug rights" like they're a different race or something. Are their children born augmented? No. To hell with their "rights." We should just get rid of all of them.”
Officer Renko here. What is it?”
“Sure I brought him in again. The guy's a troublemaker. Him and his brother both.”
“Yeah. Well, Tibor almost certainly is. I took some kind of.. uh... pass-card, keycard off him. I've got a good idea what its for too, and if it is? Proves he's ARC.”
“No. An elevator. Useless to us.. Unless we want to start a real war. Which we don't.”
“He's a small fish, for sure. And Dusan? Probably not even involved. But... uh... let's not throw either back without getting something out of it.”
“Well... I'm wondering if maybe the sister-in-law would be willing to... make a deal, you know?”( 嗯…
“I'll pay Adela a little visit later. See what we can work out.”(我等下去拜访下阿黛拉,看看我能得到什么回来。)
(No. And I do not want to know. After this, I am done with them. Being associated with ARC, even if they are our only hope, it is not worth the pain... Look, you want to know what ARC is up to, you are going to have to ask them yourself.)
“You're lecturing me about the state of Aug rights? I get the same looks, I go through the same checkpoints. And things are getting worse, so your plan obviously isn't working.”
“With every incident, the gap of fear and hatred that divides Augs and non-Augs widens. Who really benefits when innocents die, allegedly in the name of Aug rights?”
Do you think Brown cares about the augmented, about US? The only thing man of his sort care about is filling their pockets. THEY are the true enemy!"(你以为布朗关心改造人吗?
现在返回zelen公寓,在Adam拿起麦片盒时发现,这里面有一个vtol模型,以及一句“hope you like the prize inside, spyboy!”
